Lab 6: Solid Evidence Lab

Lab 6
Solid Evidence Lab

Introduction
The purpose of this lab was to observe double replacement reactions and identify the precipitate of the reaction. The lab consisted of using several different compounds and putting two in each of twelve wells on a well plate. The reactions were observed and an equation was written to model each reaction.

Results
The well plate with all 12 reactions
Equations for all 12 reactions
Net ionic equations for the 9 reactions in which a precipitate formed
Conclusion
The most surprising part about this lab was the fact that the silver nitrate caused very opaque precipitates, and that the copper (II) nitrate caused very blue precipitates. The most challenging part of this lab was the balancing of the double replacement equations.
