Introduction
The purpose of this lab was to put together a puzzle. The puzzle consisted of 64 triangular pieces with chemical names and formulas written on the edges. The corresponding names and formulas were to be placed next to each other.
Procedure
There were two main challenges in this lab. The first was matching the very common elements, like potassium, sodium, and barium. There were many of these elements, so it was easy to confuse the names and match the wrong ones. The second was finding the uncommon elements, like ruthenium, strontium, and palladium. Since there were only one or two of these in the 64 pieces, they were hard to find until the majority of the puzzle was completed. I believe that my biggest contribution in this lab was finding the first few matches and forming the majority of a corner. This provided a base to work off of and helped bring isolated matches into the puzzle.
